7/5/2023 0 Comments A ballad of never after![]() You’ll still find an Evangeline more in love with the idea of feeling cherished than with the romantic notion of falling for the love of her life. You’ll find a damsel in distress looking for her happily ever after. If you’re a fan of Disney princesses and stories, then this book might be for you. You can check both side by side to see the parallelism. Let’s try to use the same order as in the previous review. Therefore, my fellow reader, I’m sorry if I sound repetitive, but I have to say what I have to say. ![]() The fact is I feel almost the same way by the end of “ The Ballad of Never After” (TBONA) as I felt when I finished book 1 in this series. It’s funny how I reread my review on “ Once Upon a Broken Heart (OUABH),” and I was going to start this one saying the same things. There's going to be a book #3? Kuang's novel is timely, razor-sharp, and eminently readable. With its totally immersive first-person voice, Yellowface grapples with questions of diversity, racism, and cultural appropriation, as well as the terrifying alienation of social media. As June races to protect her secret, she discovers exactly how far she will go to keep what she thinks she deserves. But June can't get away from Athena's shadow, and emerging evidence threatens to bring June's (stolen) success down around her. ![]() So what if June edits Athena's novel and sends it to her agent as her own work? So what if she lets her new publisher rebrand her as Juniper Song-complete with an ambiguously ethnic author photo? Doesn't this piece of history deserve to be told, whoever the teller? That's what June claims, and the New York Times bestseller list seems to agree. So when June witnesses Athena's death in a freak accident, she acts on impulse: she steals Athena's just-finished masterpiece, an experimental novel about the unsung contributions of Chinese laborers during World War I. Who wants stories about basic white girls, June thinks. Authors June Hayward and Athena Liu were supposed to be twin rising stars. ![]() Bestselling sensation Juniper Song is not who she says she is, she didn't write the book she claims she wrote, and she is most certainly not Asian American-in this chilling and hilariously cutting novel from the #1 New York Times bestselling author R. ![]() 7/4/2023 0 Comments Snippet the early riser![]() ![]() To demonstrate the benefit of our benchmark, we conduct an evaluation, with two objectives. Finally, based on this, we propose concrete benchmark queries. Using this notion, we formulate queries in line with the information needs of users. We then formalize the notion of word context to facilitate the analysis of specific concepts. ![]() In this article, we propose such a benchmark, with the following innovations: As a first step, we collect and structure various information needs of the target users. ![]() But this currently is unclear, and there is no benchmark to evaluate distant reading systems. Making such systems efficient calls for a specification of the necessary functionality and clear expectations regarding typical work loads. Studying the meaning of words using large corpora requires efficient systems for text analysis, so-called distant reading systems. An important objective is to study the ideas and expectations of a society regarding specific concepts, like “freedom” or “democracy,” both for today’s society and even more for societies of the past. ![]() The data studied by scientists in the humanities include large textual corpora. Data science deals with the discovery of information from large volumes of data. ![]() 7/4/2023 0 Comments Stroked meghan quinn![]() I absolutely loved book 1 in this series and couldn’t wait to read Stroked Long to get to know sweet Bodi Banks, another Olympic swimmer in the Stroked series. That he is all of twenty years old further complicates things. But Hayes Campbell is clever, winning, confident, and posh, and the attraction is immediate. The last thing Solène expects is to make a connection with one of the members of the world-famous August Moon. But since her divorce, she’s more eager than ever to be close to Isabelle. Solène Marchand, the thirty-nine-year-old owner of an art gallery in Los Angeles, is reluctant to take her daughter, Isabelle, to meet her favorite boy band. Mary Porter-Malcolm is the bookish middle child of two college professors. ![]() Without a convenient rain-swept moor to flee to, Mary is forced to admit that real life doesn’t follow the same rules as fiction and that if she wants a happy ending, she’s going to have to write it herself. ![]() But despite her best efforts, she soon finds herself unable to listen to her own good advice and falling for a supposed cad-the same one she warned her friends away from. When some new friends seem in danger of falling for the same tricks employed since the days of Austen and Tolstoy, Mary swoops in to create the Scoundrel Survival Guide, using archetypes of literature’s debonair bad boys to signal red flags. Mary Porter-Malcolm has prepared for high school in the one way she knows how: an extensive review of classic literature to help navigate the friendships, romantic liaisons, and overall drama she has come to expect from such an “esteemed” institution. In this clever YA rom-com debut perfect for fans of Kasie West and Ashley Poston, a teen obsessed with nineteenth-century literature tries to cull advice on life and love from her favorite classic heroines to disastrous results-especially when she falls for the school’s resident Lothario. ![]() 7/3/2023 0 Comments The second jungle book![]() ![]() The film was directed by Wolfgang Reitherman. Most of the songs were written by Richard M. The film contains a number of classic songs, including " The Bare Necessities" and " I Wan'na Be Like You". The film was inspired by the stories about the feral child Mowgli from the book of the same name by Rudyard Kipling.
